What is the Central Unit AUX-port used for?

The Central Unit contains an AUX-port with two opto-coupler isolated I/O:s, one input and one output function. The primary use of this port is to control an external telephone hybrids hook-on and off state and detect the hybrid hook state.

The input can also be used to externally control part of the Central Units audio settings, by toggling this pin the Central Unit will switch between two programmed audio settings, see the Central Unit manual for more information.

NOTE!
The manual contains an error for the AUX port, it shows the pin "Input cathode" as pin 6. This is wrong, the correct pin number is 8.
